As a senior last year at Lake Oswego's Lakeridge High School, Mya Gordon
directed a documentary,
"Lake 'No Negro' ", about Oregon's history of racial exclusion and Lake Oswego's current problems with racism in its schools and community. She will present her documentary and speak about the challenges of growing up as a person of color in a community with a racist past - and present. Along with community groups like Respond to Racism, she has worked for change and will share ideas for how our state can move forward on issues of social justice.
